7 hills architecture design philosophy
I have been an architect for over 25 years and I am the founding Principal of 7 hills architecture + consulting. During this time, I have discovered that too many architects are quick to draw and slow to listen. This can be a very lethal combination! How can anybody solve any kind of problem, whether it is architectural or any other kind of problem, without understanding the fundamental needs and questions that need to be answered?
Please don’t get me wrong, I love to draw as much as anyone. It is a big part of what makes our profession different from most others. Who else gets to draw and color for a living? However, when an architect fails to truly hear and understand a client’s needs, problems and identity, a tremendous disservice takes place.
I founded 7 hills on the belief that the three key components of a successful project are:
- Listening
- Integrating
- Delivering
Listening to the needs of the owner
Integrating those needs into the design
Delivering creative and functional solutions to our clients.
I believe that incorporating these three components will always create a successful project and a happy owner!
